Grimshaws Included in the Master Index
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) maintains an extensive database of family pedigrees that is made available on a set of 65 CDs. The database, referred to as the "Pedigree Resource Files", is based on contributions from many family history researchers and contains millions of individuals. The entire database is available (with a Master Index) at the LDS Library in Salt Lake City. A search was made of the Master Index for Grimshaw surnames, which yielded 1025 entries for individuals that occur in the various pedigrees. These records are tabulated on this webpage.

As noted above, 1025 Grimshaw entries (many are duplicates) were found in the search of the Master Index. The search included the variants "Grimshaw", "Grinshaw" and "Grimshawe". The data set for the Grimshaws includes the CD number, a Master Index number, first and last name, year of birth, and birthplace. The data are shown in the table below. The tabulation has been sorted first by CD number and then alphabetically by first name, since pedigrees that contain Grimshaws are to be found on in their entirety on a single CD. Grimshaw entries were found on all but a few of the 65 CDs.
Additional information on many of the Grimshaws, and their ancestors and descendants, is available by visiting the LDS Library or by looking at the appropriate CD at an LDS Family History Center. These centers are generally found at one or more Mormon meeting halls in most communities in the U.S. However, many of the Grimshaws tabulated are spouses of members of the family line, with only the Grimshaw name indicated.
